What is microdosing?

A powerful tool for mental health assistance

Microdosing is a technique for administering sub-therapeutic doses of a medicine in order to promote cellular response without whole-body effects. Psilocybin is often microdosed in order to promote effects that relieve one’s experience of mental distress, such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD, or to experience greater creativity and focus.

Frequently asked questions

Get the answers to what our clients ask us.

How much psilocybin constitutes a microdose?

A microdose of psilocybin typically constitutes 1/20th-1/10th of a recreational dose: 0.1-0.4 grams of psilocybin. Individual dosing must be adjusted according to each user: weight, experience with psilocybin, and intended effect. A microdose does not induce hallucinogenic results: if you are experiencing visual effects, your dose is too high. Simply relax and wait for the effects to wear off.

How often is a microdose taken?

Most participants take a new dose once every three days. Your dose is personal and unique to your experience: more or less time may pass between your doses.

Are there instances in which a person should not microdose?

Choosing to microdose is a personal decision. TruCybin products may not be suitable for people experiencing colorblindness, people managing psychotic disorders and diagnoses, or people on the autism spectrum.

Can I microdose while I am pregnant?

Choosing to microdose is a personal decision. While available medical literature suggests that minimal harm will arise from the use of psilocybin while pregnant, very little information exists. No clinical trials involving pregnancy and the use of psilocybin have been performed as of this writing.
